Full Analysis of Ingredient List
The Protein Matrix contains the following ingredients:
Whey Concentrate, Whey Isolate, Calcium Caseinate, Micellar Casein, Milk Protein Isolate, Egg Albumen and Glutamine Peptides.
Whey Concentrate is the form that has the lowest levels of cholesterol and pretty low levels of fat, although it tends to be high in carbs (as lactose). It’s anywhere between 29-89% of protein by weight and retains most nutrients that are naturally found in whey.
The Whey Isolate form is fat and lactose-free, which is perfect for lactose-intolerant people who still want a Whey Protein. It is over 90% of protein by weight and perfect for those who want a fast-acting macronutrient source.

Calcium Caseinate is one of the fastest water-soluble proteins. It is a slow-digesting, sustained amino-acid-release macronutrient source and is produced from Casein in skim milk.
Micellar Casein is also a slow release and slow absorption macronutrient source. Its anti-catabolic properties make this protein powder ideal for taking during nighttime before you go to sleep.
It’s also exceptionally satiating, making it a great macronutrient source for those that also have weight-loss goals in mind – as taking it throughout the day will make you feel full for much longer.
Milk Protein Isolate is a high-quality protein source that contains both types of protein in milk – casein and whey, in their original ratios – 80-90% Casein and 10-20% Whey.
Its total protein by weight content is around 90%, it is usually completely lactose-free and contains about 1-3% of fat, which makes it great for lactose-intolerant consumers.
Egg Albumen is just another word for egg whites.
This protein is fast-digesting and fast-acting, and is ideal for taking before, during, or directly after a training session, as it is one of the most rapidly absorbed sources of protein available.
The last ingredient contained in the blend is Glutamine Peptides, which are glutamine molecules bonded to other amino acids, which in turn increase Glutamine’s stability and efficiency once ingested.
They improve muscle tissue repairs, recovery, and growth.
This BSN Protein Powder Matrix makes the product incredibly versatile – perfect for taking at absolutely any time, as it contains many different sources of protein that are digested, absorbed and utilized at various speeds and time intervals.
You can take BSN protein shake prior, during and after exercise, you can take it right after waking up, just before going to sleep, or at absolutely any other time in-between.
This, combined with the wonderfully delicious taste is what makes the product stand out from the rest.
That said, there are some downsides to the product, and that’s what this syntha 6 review is going to focus on next.
Syntha-6 Protein by BSN Nutrition Features: The PROs and CONs
So we’ve looked at the main ingredients, seen their potential and explained every protein source and their specific benefits. Now let’s take a look at all the other facts:
- The BEST Taste, bar none!
- Incredibly Versatile
- Easy on the Stomach
- High-Quality Protein Sources
- Great for Beginners and Professionals
- High Calories
- High Fat and Very High Carb Content
- Very Low Protein-by-Weight Ratio (22g out of 44g scoop!)
- Huge scoops
- High Cholesterol
So here are the downsides.
This product is high in fat and carbohydrates, making it high in calories – which in turn makes BSN Syntha 6 protein powder not ideal for any weight-loss goals that you may have.
The Protein by Weight Ratio is abysmal compared to the scoop size – one of the lowest we have ever encountered at just 50%.
There’s no way of telling whether the rest are all legitimate ingredients or if there are some filler and unnecessary elements included in this protein shake.
So while the product does provide people with significant results – there may be some side effects due to the fact that you don’t know exactly what amounts of other ingredients are present in the scoop. Like the included MCT powder, which contains Medium Chain Triglycerides, Non-Fat Dry Milk, Disodium Phosphate and Silicone Dioxide.
This is what’s called a hidden proprietary blend, as it’s not the main focus of the supplement, but you still don’t know how much of each ingredient is present.
Another downside is the Cholesterol content. At 23% per serving it’s a huge downside, as you’ll be getting nearly one-fourth of your daily allowed dose.
The final downside is the price. Compared to similar proteins, some better and some worse, it is by far the most expensive one – although by even farther the undeniably tastiest one.
Is that heavenly taste worth buying it? That will be for you to decide.
This BSN Syntha 6 Review won’t try to sway your decision on taste alone – we care more about the health of our readers, not the taste buds – that’s why we focus on ingredient safety and quality instead.
Our Evaluation and Verdict of This Supplement
Yes – this product is a great one.
It does, however, have several significant downsides; that is why it’s not very high on our top 10 list of the best protein powder supplements for men.
Our experience with this product was great, and as of this point, we can safely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for an effective and efficient protein shake to supplement their macronutrient needs and take their muscle gains to the next level.
There’s no protein shake that beats it in taste, and the versatility of BSN Syntha 6 is not to be scoffed at.
Protein Powder Supplement made by BSN Nutrition should be sufficient for anyone – beginners and professionals alike.
However, those looking for a better alternative can certainly find it, as it does have its flaws, like the price, the cholesterol content and the unnecessary ingredients.
