In this Dymatize ISO 100 review, we’ll talk about a tried and true protein powder supplement made by one of the most trusted industry giants who is operating since 1994.
Dymatize Nutrition is one of the most trusted and respected manufacturers in the industry – one of the absolute industry leaders – and they provide high-quality sports nutrition supplements to millions of people worldwide.
They make all of their products on their own premises – in their labs and manufacturing plants – so you always know exactly where your sports supplements are coming from since they make everything themselves.
Out of their huge range of products, we will be checking out ISO 100 – their Hydrolyzed 100% Whey Protein Isolate.
We’ll see just what makes it special and whether it can hold up to the other absolute best products on the market.
Incidentally, Dymatize ISO 100 Whey Protein is already featured in our Top 10 Best Protein Powder Supplements for Men at a respectable fourth place.
This should already tell you that it’s a phenomenal supplement – but we’ll take a closer look at all of the ingredients and explain just what makes it great – and why it’s just at number four!

Supplement Overview: Dymatize ISO 100 Whey Protein
Dymatize ISO 100 Whey Protein Powder Supplement is a 100% Whey Isolate which has been processed to the zenith of perfection, according to the manufacturer.
It is designed for people who want a clean, pure and extremely easy to mix isolate supplement.
Every single serving of ISO 100 Whey Protein shake contains 25 grams of protein, 5.5 grams of BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), out of which a whopping 2.7 grams are L-Leucine.
The thing that makes this supplement clearly stand heads over any competition is its incredible ease of mixing.
It is the only protein powder supplement that we have come across which has true “instant mixability”. It is also one of, if not the absolute fastest-absorbing protein shake that we have ever tried.
Ingredient List Analysis
The ingredient list is very short and sweet – which is a great thing when it comes to any supplement.
ISO 100 Hydrolyzed Whey Isolate contains zero fat, near-zero cholesterol and zero sugars per each and every serving – which makes it ideal for people who want to lose weight, who are lactose intolerant, and those with cholesterol problems. The sodium content is exceedingly low as well.
This, in addition to its extremely fast and easy mixability as well as absorption, makes it one of the best choices for people with various allergies and digestive tract issues.
Now let’s talk a bit about the main ingredient – the Hydrolyzed 100% Whey Protein Isolate.
Hydrolyzed merely means that the whey has undergone a process called “enzymatic hydrolysis”, which means that it has been broken down into smaller protein fragments for maximum absorption and mixability.
This rapid breakdown and digestion aids in getting those all-important amino acids and proteins right into your muscles – enhancing their maintenance and growth, as well as maintaining a positive nitrogen balance, right when your muscles need this the most.
These benefits make ISO 100 ideal for people who want to get their dose of the vital macronutrient during an intensive exercise session.
It’s truly one of the best intra-workout protein powder supplements on the market because it contains no other form of whey apart from Isolate, which has been instantized to perfection.
Regarding Whey Isolate – it is a form of Whey that is virtually fat and lactose-free, and generally, sits at about 90%+ of protein by weight.
This form is mostly recommended for lactose-intolerant people and those who want a fast-acting protein powder.
That said, it does come with one very significant and often deal-breaking downside – it is, without question, the most expensive form of whey.

Regarding the other ingredients – nothing really stands out, except for the addition of Sucralose, an artificial sweetener and sugar substitute.
The reason we mention it is that it’s known to cause several problems with people’s blood sugar levels and causes unnecessary and unwanted insulin hormone spikes.
We have no idea why a supplement would include Sucralose when it already includes Stevia – arguably a much safer and better natural sweetener than Sucralose – but the fact is that it’s still included and we must mention it due to certain safety concerns.
The health and safety of our readers are of utmost importance to us – so we’ll always point out potentially harmful ingredients, even if the supplement is absolutely phenomenal in every other way.
ISO 100 Protein Features: Its PROs and CONs
Now that we’ve analyzed the ingredient list – let’s check out the rest of the supplement facts:
- Very Low Calories
- Extremely Low Cholesterol
- Gluten-Free and Lactose-Free
- Ultra-Fast Absorption
- Premium Quality Ingredients
- Best-In-Class Mixability
- Extremely High Protein Content (25g per 29g scoop)
- One of the most respected and trusted manufacturers
As you can see, there are a huge number of benefits to this product – most importantly the amazing mixability and absorption, as well as the protein-per-scoop ratio that’s higher than nearly all other Whey Isolate supplements in the industry.
There are very few reasons not to choose this supplement, which we’ll talk about next!
- Unpleasant Taste
- Not Very Affordable
- Not for those who want a slow absorbing protein to last through the day
- Contains Sucralose
Unfortunately, a significant number of consumers who have tried this product reported that the taste is simply too overpowering and sweet.
We agree with them; that is why we have already mentioned that the inclusion of Sucralose along with Stevia is a bizarre choice.
Also, this supplement contains no slow digesting protein sources, which is not good for those who don’t have time to drink powders at regular intervals throughout the day.
This also makes the supplement not suppress your appetite as well as other forms of Whey, like Whey Concentrate.
Finally, and we think this is the worst downside out of every other one, the price of ISO 100 Dymatize is extremely high when compared to other protein powders.
This is by far the thing that turns the most customers off of this supplement, and we completely understand why.
Even though we know that extra quality requires a premium price – it’s still simply too high for the average user.
Our Evaluation and Verdict of This Whey Protein Powder Product
Value For Money89%
We think that Dymatize protein shake is one of the absolute best!
That said, it’s also one of the most expensive protein powders in the world – so while we can wholeheartedly and fully recommend it to anyone who wants a fantastic macronutrient supplement – its price is still an issue.
As we mentioned earlier, while premium-quality requires a premium on the price – and the extra dollars are certainly well worth it when it comes to the big picture – it’s not going to be affordable for everyone.
So if you’re interested in a much more affordable option, which contains not only Isolate but Whey Concentrate and Whey Peptides as well, you should check out Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey instead.
Also, consider that it only contains the Isolate form, so if your training goals require you to ingest supplements which have other types of protein in general, and not just Whey Isolate – consider opting for another protein shake altogether.
For example, if you want to compare how ISO 100 protein in this review compares to the product that’s currently sitting at the number one spot on our Top 10 List of the Best Protein Powder Supplements for Men – check out Catalyst Grass Fed Whey Protein.
As you can see, while Dymatize Elite Whey protein is magnificent – it’s not perfect and can’t hold up to the other three fully fleshed out protein shakes from our Top 10 List.
ISO 100 Whey protein powder supplement by Dymatize is no joke – we can honestly tell you that much.
It has proven itself to be one of the best, time and time again. In fact, it has been awarded the title of The Best Isolate Supplement of the Year, on multiple occasions, during the years 2013 to 2015.
Our experience with this product was nothing short of fantastic, even though we thought the taste was sub-par – but that’s just a nitpick at this point – since we’re all grown men here and don’t need our supplements to taste like candy.
We want reliable results, no side effects and to know exactly what we’re getting with our products – which is everything that whey protein ISO 100 provides.
